The Wilmington Police Department has released the name of the 6-year-old who was shot and killed Thursday night.

Tony Leon Harris Jr. was the victim of the shooting. He was found lying on the front porch of a house at 96½ N. Fifth Ave., according to officials.

Detectives are working the case and are following leads, according to the police department. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the Wilmington Police Department at 343-3600. Information may be submitted anonymously through Text-A-Tip. Enter Tip 0 and the information, and send to CRIMES (463).
