Clause Text
Sections 1 and 2 shall take effect on the 15th day of October following the ratification of this article.

Effective Date of Sections 1 and 2 of Twentieth Amendment[edit | edit source]

Because the Twentieth Amendment was ratified on January 23, 1933, Sections 1 and 2 of the Twentieth Amendment[1] became effective on October 15, 1933.
